WHY GIRLS POWER?
Girls face a lot of negativity in today’s world: societal pressures about body image, the myth of perfection, hostilities from internet culture—the list goes on. But there are positive forces at work, women and girls who celebrate the self, cultivate a sense of inner beauty and urge girls to do what they love.
In our For Girls Power website, you’ll read about four Chicagoans furthering this mission of girls empowerment across the city. We believe in sharing these four special stories and personalities with you because, ultimately, this is all
for girls power.

This website is the product of the hard work of magazine journalism students in the Communication and Media Innovation Department of Columbia College Chicago during the spring 2016 semester.
